John Gormally

Email marketing

Real campaign, real results — not a mockup

"Has Your Managed IT Engagement Become a Mounting Expense?" — Coeus Consulting's 2026 Tucson MSP Comparison Guide campaign. Written, strategized, and signed by me directly, driving to a live

Case study: From page 4 to top 3

An Arizona MSP's SEO & AEO turnaround

The problem. Coeus Consulting had the credentials — named healthcare clients, a 4.9-star Google rating, BBB A+ accreditation — but almost none of it showed up in search. The company sat at position 45 on Google for the searches that mattered most, invisible to buyers researching MSPs before ever picking up the phone.

The approach. Fixed canonical tag errors and duplicate indexing issues, deployed JSON-LD schema across core pages, built a competitive benchmarking framework against Phoenix-area MSPs, and structured content specifically for AI-driven answer engines — ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews — not just traditional search. Supported by 8 public-facing field marketing events over the year.

The results. Moved from position 45 to #2 for "Top MSP for Healthcare in Phoenix," #3 for Automotive, and #4 for Construction — generating 500+ leads and roughly $250,000 in ARR pipeline from the combined digital and field marketing push.

Case study: Trustifi

Content and podcast production for an email security brand

The engagement. Brought on as featured freelance content writer for Trustifi, an email security platform selling to enterprise IT teams and MSPs. The challenge: make technical email security concepts — encryption, phishing defense, data loss prevention — clear and credible to buyers who need to justify the spend internally.

The work. Over 24 months, wrote ongoing blog content, whitepapers, and landing pages translating Trustifi's technical capabilities into buyer-focused messaging for enterprise and MSP audiences. Extended that into audio, hosting podcast episodes built around Trustifi's solutions to reach IT decision-makers through a second channel beyond written content.

The result. Sustained a 24-month freelance content relationship producing dozens of published pieces across blog, whitepaper, and landing page formats, plus hosted podcast episodes promoting their solutions directly to IT and MSP audiences.

Case study: 8 clicks to 15 booked meetings

A direct mail recovery story

The campaign. Built a direct mail campaign for an MSSP client to book net-new meetings, timed to dovetail with the theatrical release of The Odyssey. The front carried the tagline "Don't let the Trojans invade your data center," paired with a backside offer: book 15 minutes and receive a Fandango gift card to see the film.

The fault. The concept was strong, but the execution buried it — brown and tan font colors that hurt readability, and a QR code the size of a penny. The result: only 8 clicks from the entire mail drop.

The fix. Relaunched the same offer with corrected contrast and color choices and a QR code sized to actually scan from across a desk. No change to the core concept or offer — just the execution flaws that were killing response.

The result. 15 new meetings booked from the relaunch — proof that diagnosing and fixing execution details, not just the creative concept, is what actually moves response rates.

Book publishing

Author of the Jack Kendall series under the pen name Patrick Greenwood — three published novels, handled end-to-end: writing, cover design, metadata, print and ebook distribution via Amazon KDP and IngramSpark, and launch marketing.

What people say

"I've worked alongside John in tech for 25+ years, and I've watched him solve a problem that trips up most marketing agencies: they don't speak the language of technology, or worse, they don't understand the business problem the technology actually solves. What sets him apart isn't just that he understands the tech — it's that he understands how to translate it, to find the actual business implication buried in the features and make it click for your audience."

— Michael Kennedy, Google Review

"John spent almost thirty years in cybersecurity and IT before starting CycleWriter LLC, and it shows the second you talk to him. He's not learning marketing-speak for companies — he's been the buyer in that room himself, which changes how he writes and pitches. He tells you the truth and he follows through on what he says he'll do."

— Curt Schatz, Google Review

"Exceptional content and blog writing — highly recommend. We hired John for content and blog writing services, and the experience exceeded our expectations. His background in tech, and particularly cybersecurity, made a real difference — the content had real depth and credibility instead of feeling generic or surface-level."

— Alex Hisa, ★★★★★ Google Review

"Brilliant writer & marketing expert, you are in great hands working with John!"

— Art Jannicelli, Local Guide, Google Review

AI-powered workflow

Where AI actually fits in the process

Claude · ChatGPT · Gemini · Canva · InVideo · SurferSEO · SE Ranking

AI adoption started in 2024 with ChatGPT and Gemini, and Claude is now the daily working tool for content strategy, drafting, and editing — across novel editing, image creation, and campaign planning. The workflow is AI-assisted, not AI-replaced: every piece of content is reviewed, edited, and owned before it goes out.
